Weekend Photo Upload: Rafina - Sea in Greece

Rafina is a beautiful town in the east coast of Athena. It has a big port which connects to the east Aegean and east Cyclades islands of Greece. But what I found best is the beaches, very unique, sandy and full of big waves.

I lost the way when approaching Rafina from Athens due to lack of navigation or may be because of I like bit of adventure in long drives. So we landed in a hilly area after crossing Kiffisia. I posted a photo of that place in this post, where I played with my sunglass. To be specific with the goggles are of my friend. I have spectacle in my eyes and can’t enjoy the Sunglasses for long time.

But finally found the way to the small coastal town through a mountain. The landscape was breathtaking and I enjoyed the drive.
Here is one of the pictures taken from the mountain.

Left pic: This is a fisherman in Rafina (Greece) who is busy in catching fish in the sea.

I have taken this picture in the same fashion, keeping the Sunglass in front of the Camera Lens. I liked this one as it is facing the Sun. The reddish touch reminds me some kind of masks professional photographers use. I have seen people using circular polarizer to eliminate the haze of bright sunlight, blue polarizer to make the sky bit more blue.
The following is an original picture which I took facing the Sun just before leaving the place. I love this one. Wish you a nice weekend ahead.

1st photo: A lovely shot with nice, soft, warm colours. If anything, a wee bit of space on the right might have helped.

2nd photo: Very uninteresting top half. You could have included less of the sky & the sea and more of the rocks & foam.

3rd photo: A little vignetting visible on the corners. Also the sun is somewhat fuzzy. But I like the overall shot.

4th photo: Not so nice :-) Calls out loudly for a central subject or at least a leading line.

5th photo: More of the sea perhaps? Also you could have taken this by kneeling down, from a much lower height.

Lovely pictures .... very beautiful! Though I think you have done some post-processing on the first two of the pictures? Either way, the first one has amazing colors of the sea.
And the one of the fisherman is awesome. Neat trick!!
And since you mention the problem with goggles, you can have sunglasses with powered lenses, made to order. Some of my family members have done that, and it is quite useful.

@Ananda, I am happy that you liked 3 pics. Thanks for such an honest feedback. In 2nd one, I tried to minimize the sky and agree your feedback on 4th that subject is missing. It was tough to make a subject from the top. I will try to do better next time.

@Sigma, I am glad that you liked it. I only used saturation, as you can see the sky is absolutely normal this time :-)
I will order one after coming back to India, here it is damn costly. Last one was almost 200 euro :-(. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Pijush,
Thanks for your comment on my blog and for the informations on the fires. I survived them. Actually I was in the Islands (Kos, Crete and Mykonos) where there were no fires; only the island of Evia was somehow affected. I’m glad to be back and catch up your quite interesting posts, including the Scandinavian ones!
As I’m late, my posts at Blogtrotter are still in Bali 2005. Hope you enjoy it, anyhow!
Have a great weekend!

WoW...some very wonderfully captured shots. I like the 3rd & the 4th shots very much, but I will say all the shots have been beautiful in their own right from the overall perspective....the Sunglass editions are coming out quite nicely. I will also have to try it...Nice post!

@Kalyan, Thanks for your complement, So finally I can conclude that we all have varied choices, which someone disliked, someone liked it the most. This is really interesting.
